I’ve finally decided to open up a new blog to express my thoughts on religion, science, and technology. I’m a former evangelical christian who de-converted in a long process that lasted nearly 6 months. In October 2008, I finally could call myself an atheist.
I wasn’t just any fundie, I was a young Earth fundie. Back in my Quaker youth group in high school we watched Kent Hovind videos. I’m wanting to put my story into a larger post later, along with my wife’s story. We joke that god led us away from him at the same time. We both took our own paths to losing our faith, and rarely discussed it. We were driven by a purely intellectual desire, not by anger. Her interest was more philosophical, and mine was more scientific.
By the end of 2008, we were both godless.
